The Event
It was a hot and sunny Saturday afternoon at Flashback Motorworks in Cumming, GA filled with the most exotic cars in the Southeast. The event officially started at noon but many of the cars began filing in around 10AM. Immediately catching your eye when you walked into the warehouse, was the line of fine Italian sports cars that ran the length of a football field. Starting with Lamborghini, moving to Ferrari and capping off with Lancia and Maserati the line of Italian brutes contained such models as Murcielago, Countach, Diablo, Testa Rossa, 355, 308 GT4, Merak, Bora and many, many more. On to the middle of the warehouse where the British cars were represented, you saw Lotus, Triumph, Noble, MG, Jaguar and other outstanding British marques. Finally to the German section of the warehouse that housed Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Audi and VW.

The Judging
The judges had the enormous task of picking the best of the best from the very large number of entries out of the three classes; Vintage (1900-1969), Classic (1970-1989) and Modern (1990-2006). It took the judges the majority of the afternoon to scour the cars and choose the top three in each class as well as the Marque award winners. The Marque awards were presented to a car that was the single best representation of it’s marque at the show. There were five Marque awards presented which included Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus and Mercedes. The ladies and children spectators were also busy on Saturday voting on the cars that were their favorites. The cars with the most votes were given a Ladies Choice or Kids Choice award.

The Stories
There were many great stories at the show including young Alex Brandeis who not yet old enough to drive brought his very own 1979 Porsche 930 to the show and took home the Marque Award. Another amazing story was Michael Parks who had originally come out to spectate and parked his 1973 Porsche 911S outside. It wasn’t until one of the judges walked by and suggested that he enter that he registered for the show. A few hours later Michael took home the Best in Show award and a check for $1000.00!
